Twisted Aluminum Light

 

Metal continues to be an important design forward trend. Mondoro has the ability to produce and manufacture lamps and lighting and other products in what we call a twisted aluminum metal.  This product must be done in factories that have a high skill and ability to do weaving; these products continue to be popular among many European Customers.    

The metal is a fine aluminum metal wire, which is woven and twisted into various shapes and forms, similar to how rattan is woven. It can be used in lighting, lamps, candleholders, boxes and lamp shades in fact almost any form. It could be used for indoor and also outdoor products. 

To weave the aluminum we must first have a frame which will give the base or the shape of the item. Once we have the frame then skilled workers must weave the thin metal. This kind of weaving in fact will require a bit more skill and care than weaving normal rattan as the workers must watch out for any sharp edges. The finished product does not need any paint or other finish. Once it is woven the piece is completed and designed for a lamp or lighting product it can then be electrified. 

The aluminum can come in a variety of shapes and widths. These shapes and widths will determine the overall look of the piece. Some types of wire have curves that look almost like a paper clip and so they can give the piece a spiked look, others have a smooth finish so they give the piece a look of smooth metal when completed. The wire can also be made in a variety of colors. The standard color is silver, and continues to be the most popular, but gold, bronze and a pewter colors can also give a nice look.
